Wolski Design Group participated in the 1st NAIT Connections Product Runway Design Competition on April 8, 2016.

Wolski presented its creation “Mid-Mod” to an excited and approving crowd who collectively voted our design into the top 5. The dress concept was born of Mid-Century Modern design: a style characterized by clean simplicity and integration with nature. Classic and timeless materials were carefully chosen to celebrate the mid-20th century design trend. This was best reflected by the use of minimalist materials to create an uncomplicated yet fresh aesthetic. Integration of natural materials, stone and wood, into the design was key while utilizing organic shapes to create texture. LED lighting beneath an acrylic shade skirt mimicked the ethereal look of marble.

Shout-out to WOW Lighting, Levey and Stone Tile for supplying materials for the dress, as well as Janette Tong, Design Student for putting up with our multiple dress-fittings and OCD tendencies.
